More Time Passed

 

I usually try not to post things less than a decade old.
Give things time to fade into whatever obscurity awaits them before shining a light into the darkness.

I also want things to be out of print. 

It seems only fair to the makers of things that way.

I'll also link to the bands when I can and encourage people to spend some hard earned for their own copies.

Which leads us to this post.

It's been six years and I never see these in the wild.

So here we go.




Buffalo Sleeper (2016)


So another six years had passed. I was doing internet stuff and I for some reason was looking to see what was out there that I might have missed. There's a seven inch of bands live at the Turf Club with a Ten Ton Bridge track on it, but the only copy I've ever seen listed was asking a thoroughly ridiculous price for it. (Which some idiot actually paid, it seems.)

While I was doing my google shit I came across Buffalo Sleeper. Yet another Chuck Miller joint with other local music veterans.

Yeah, that was a good day.

The Buffalo Sleeper Bandcamp exists and I highly recommend getting your own hard copies of stuff. It's cheap and worth it. Hard drives die all the fucking time.

Smokin' Weed and Makin' Money

  So here were are. The deal is that I've got too much fucking stuff that I think people ought to hear and not enough time or space in which to do it on one blog. I've also been in the Twin Cities for a long ass time and have seen, heard and played with so many really good bands that it seems a shame that nobody has heard them. So I've made this even dumber blog thing to flog the local tomfoolery for your dancing and dining pleasure. Even in Minnesota, they could really give a rat's ass about your local band until you get enough recognition somewhere else that they'll proudly claim you as "From Minnesota". I mean, if you take someone iconic like Bob Dylan, who generally needs no introduction, he's inevitably referred to as "Minnesota Native Bob Dylan" any time he's brought up on local media.  Well, it's later the same night and I finally killed that jug of local gin I'd bought this summer. Twin Town Music Yearbook Volume Four (2001) Tracklist at Discogs Another one where I don't know where to start. So I won't. Just listen already. Suffice it to say that this one has a number of things that have caused me to flip through many a local bin searching for long forgotten goodness and bunch of adds to the old wantlist.
