Throwing Something in the Queue

Image
So I've been busy this off week and only noticed that the post queue had run dry. Time to spring into action and get some shit in there lest I disappoint the few people who take time to frequent this little corner of the world wide web. Lonely (1980) So I threw a bunch of stuff at mediafire and decided to post them in the order they uploaded. So here we are. Thrust were from Duluth, Mn. It's been sitting in the "to post" bin since 2018. Mostly because I didn't really know what to pair it with. Today it pairs with another dust gathering bin orphan. It's a local band kind of stab at AOR rock and actually not terrible for what it is. There's a bit of Prog stylings to the flip "Children of the Sun". While I can't say as I pull this out to listen to with any regularity, I don't actually dislike it which is faint praise certainly, but given what I listen  to on the reg. Pretty good on the whole. 1994 - Gauche One of two singles (and the only o

Spin Offs

Going to sync up the two blogs tonight. Stand by for posts to follow. Starting with this one.   [Infestation] (2004) The Chinch Bugs . Garage pop.  Some fun songs. Some funny songs.  (and I will forever maintain that it's a lot fucking harder to write a song that's funny than a pretentions depressing one) There's a freakin' oboe on some tracks. You need some double reed action in your playlist That is all.

Oh Wait.

I almost forgot that I'd set this one aside for tonight. Touched (2000) Tulip Sweet and her Trail of Tears. I can't think of a better thing to post for the day after Valentine's day. Trust me on this. You'll just have to listen. There's allegedly a second disc, but I've never seen it. I want it bad.

I'm Stopping with This One

I  have a nice warm whisky glow going on and I have some things to tidy up before the landlord comes in tomorrow to finally bleed the fucking radiators halfway into winter. It hasn't been a problem in this room or the bedroom, but damn the living/dining room and the sun room have been on the cool side. Which is probably why I've been baking a lot of bread lately. Anyway.... Discothèque Crypt (2006) Fuck me. 2006 is already sixteen years ago. More for the Joy Division/Goth fan in you and your life by Revolver Modèle. Nice music to glower at the snow through the window to while you paint your nails black.

Starting at the 2nd

Still can't remember what I as going to cook. But when I'm done here I really ought to get some bread dough going. It was probably a mistake to start making my own bread a couple of months ago because there's really no going back from this point. I just created more work for myself. I mean, it's easy as fuck and the result is well worth the effort, but I'm feeling pretty fucking lazy this deep into another Plague Year and right in the middle of Winter with the Solstice still months away. Anyway. This fits my current mood. Revolver Modèle (2004) This 6 song disc followed up a self released 3 song ep  I haven't got. So we're starting with it. Some bands wear their influences on their sleeves proudly. Revolver Modèle is one. It's pretty clear that they're big fans of Joy Division. It's a modern take on it, but someone is trying really hard to channel themselves some Ian Curtis at the mic. It's not a value judgement by any means, but it's al

Expectations vs Confusion

Huh? Oh didn't see you there.  I was daydreaming a bit. I was trying to remember what the other thing was that I'd been thinking about cooking for this week. I can't remember and I have to go to the grocery store in the next day or so. Oh well, I'll think of something.. Touch It (2006) Yeah, this one. Personally when faced with a name like Jelloslave and see the disc is called "Touch It" and with that cover I'm going to figure I'm looking at some EDM deal with risque lyrics ala Lords of Acid . I mean, seriously. An avante garde cello duo is not going to be the first thing to come to my or really just about anybody's mind. But here we are. Welcome to February.
